Working in Our 11-Bed ICU:
You will have the opportunity to work in our dynamic 11-bed ICU, staffed with experienced Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. Our unit operates with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio average, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention and care. We utilize telehealth intensivists for immediate support and manage a diverse range of diagnoses, including respiratory failure, cardio/pulmonary disease, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Staffing and Scheduling: Manage nurse schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all units, addressing gaps due to absences or increased patient acuity.
- Resource Allocation: Assign nursing staff based on patient needs, acuity levels, and staff competencies to optimize care delivery.
- Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies such as patient crises, natural disasters, or security incidents, implementing appropriate protocols and coordinating with relevant departments.
- Communication: Serve as the liaison between nursing staff, physicians, patients, families, and hospital administration, ensuring effective information flow and addressing concerns promptly.
- Patient Flow Coordination: Monitor patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain optimal bed utilization and reduce bottlenecks in patient care services.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, addressing clinical questions, facilitating professional development, and promoting a positive work environment.
