Position Summary:
Deliver safe and accurate patient care to those patients experiencing cardiopulmonary difficulties and ensure the smooth operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Obtains data pertinent to therapy by chart review and physical exam.
- Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment. Remains alert, assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery. Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each.
- Maintains asepsis with appropriate hand washing between patients
- Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures by cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing equipment as needed according to department policy.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Graduated from an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree.
Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional letter required until Board meets as designated on the letter.
NBRC Registered (RRT) credentials required and maintained per NBRC.
BLS required.
ALS and PALS certifications required within six (6) months of employment and annual re-certification required.
TEAM-de-escalation training required within 6 months of hire.
NRP is preferred.
Some clinical experience preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Typing and basic computer skills required.
