Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee recreational programs tailored to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Plan and coordinate events that encourage social interaction and personal growth.
- Manage schedules to ensure optimal participation in activities.
- Collaborate with staff to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for engaging clients in activities.
- Monitor participant progress and adjust programs as necessary to enhance effectiveness.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and joy among participants.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related field is required.
- Strong event planning skills with a creative approach to program development.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while ensuring high-quality program delivery.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles is preferred but not mandatory.
