What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Transportation Aide position at St. Mary's Residential Training School?
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provides safe transportation for clients to and from St. Mary’s Residential Training Facility to physician’s offices for scheduled appointments, to emergency rooms as needed for treatment and to or from any other location as directed by the supervisor. Additionally, remains with the client providing routine duties in caring for the client.
1. Assures client is clean, neat and dressed appropriately for the appointment.
2. Assures client has had oral hygiene provided before leaving the grounds.
3. Checks with the nurse to assure medications have been administered before leaving St. Mary’s.
4. Assures client has been fed before leaving for appointment if okay by the nurse.
5. Assures necessary documentation accompanies the client for physicians or hospital visit.
6. Provides for the safety of the client during loading and unloading from transportation van.
7. Remains with the client at all times while away from St. Mary’s grounds.
8. Returns from appointment with appropriate documentation concerning the visit.
9. Gives report to clinic nurse upon return from appointment. Turns in any paperwork from appointment.
10. On return to the clinic, Transportation aides will be utilized to work in any area at St. Mary’s as directed by the supervisor.
11. Observe clients in the clinic. Maintain cleanliness and all other nursing duties assigned.
12. Report all questionable changes or observations to the nurse on duty.
13. Assist with admissions and discharges in the clinic. Accompany all discharged clients to the dorm and bring discharge slip. Empty and clean the bedside table on discharge.
14. On admission, see that all clients have at least 2 changes of clothes, pajamas, slippers and hygiene box.
15. Maintain order in client rooms. Keep beds neat and floors clean.
16. May assist with bedside care such as: baths, serving meals, preparing clients for doctor’s visits, and make take T.P.R.
17. Assists with all outpatient clinics as instructed.
18. May be involved with use and care of walkers, palatal expansions, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
