Responsibilities:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and creative teacher for our high school science program. Teaching 9th grade physics is the primary responsibility but there is an opportunity to teach other science classes as well. The best St. Mary’s teachers have a true passion for their subject, and are also energized by working with students. St. Mary’s embodies an independent school spirit, and we are looking for team members who embrace an active role in shaping innovative curriculum, classroom practices, and student educational opportunities.

Physics Class Description

This course introduces fundamental concepts of physics with emphasis on applications to the world around us. The course introduces fundamental equations of physics and makes extensive use of basic algebraic concepts. The class is designed to introduce students to Newtonian Mechanics and concepts related to energy. The skills learned in this class will carry into future math classes and set students up for a foundation in future pursuits in science and engineering.

Minimum educational requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
