What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title I/Interventionist position at St. Mary, Storm Lake?
St. Mary’s Catholic School is a small, family-centered, faith-based school system located in a beautiful lakeside community (Storm Lake, IA). For the 2025-2026 school year, we are looking for a K-6 Title 1 / Reading & Math Interventionist. This teacher’s role would include supporting pull-out and possible push-in student support in the areas of reading and math. Responsibilities may span a combination of elementary and middle school grade levels, possible co-teaching opportunities (through push-in services), reviewing data and assessment information as part of child studies and MTSS efforts system-wide, brainstorming Title 1 funding needs with administration and outside parties, supporting families and family engagement, etc. This role involves heavy collaboration with classroom teachers. Our school system emphasizes high-quality academics and structure as well as faith-based opportunities for student growth starting at an early age. We also pride ourselves in a family-like atmosphere for students, staff, and parents alike. St. Mary’s is a school on the Teacher Cancellation Low Income Directory.
Applicants must hold an active K-6 teaching license within the state of Iowa, and K-8 reading and/or K-8 Mathematics endorsements are desirable. Additional endorsements and experience welcomed. Applicants must also pass a background check and complete a diocesan Virtus Safe Environment training (entirely done online) prior to official hiring.
