Summary/Job Scope: Cement Operations Technician
Purpose of Position: Responsible for startup, monitoring and basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs of finished grinding mill system, accurately recording on operations logs and conducting simple quality assurance sample tests. Supplement distribution functional needs thru truck loading assistance, coordinating truck deliveries, generating shipping documentation and perform shipping reconciliations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities: The heavy equipment operator will use the below industrial machinery as directed:
- Receive product and unload rail cars as necessary.
- Coordinate truck deliveries: generate bills of lading for truck loading and daily reconcile shipping reports.
- Perform set-up, startup and shutdown of the finished mill grinding system including belt conveyors, blowers, bucket elevators, compressors, and air-drying mechanisms for safe / efficient production.
- Visually monitor controls of finished mill grinding system including silo inventory levels for production operational effectiveness, provide daily feedback / suggestions and timely communicate problems to supervision.
- Operate Material Front-end Loader to transfer raw material from storage to material feed bins in safe / efficient manner.
- Maintain general lubrication and oil / filter changes for machines / equipment in work area, recording maintenance efforts / schedules daily.
- Work closely with the bulk loaders and internal plant personnel on silo usage, transfer, and inventory levels.
- Communicate with plant supervision and sales staff to provide information on mill system production and quality issues.
- Perform minor corrective maintenance / repairs, dismantling machine parts and equipment to examine for defects or to remove / replace defective parts.
- Operate balance scales and related equipment to perform sample quality assurance checks for hourly verification and documentation conformance to production specifications.
- Accurately input data from operational and product delivery to produce daily production reports / updates including inputting incumbent's time into attendance reporting system.
- Comply with Plant safety policies, procedures, maintaining safe, organized / tidy work area while reporting accidents and incidents, including unsafe acts and conditions immediately to supervisor.
- Perform duties to ensure proper appearance and general cleanliness of work area including laboratory equipment when assigned.
- Support efficient production operations and respectful / effective work relationships by adhering to Company's Human Resources policies and plant rules.
Qualifications and Education:
- Highschool graduate or GED required.
- One year trade school of technical certificate preferred.
- Some industrial machinery experience required.
