JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are patient, empathetic, demonstrate a caring approach, and have good communication skills to teach life skills and self-care skills to people served. The DSP provides individualized quality care which promotes their rights, dignity, respect, and freedom of choice. The DSP is attentive, observant, and committed to making people feel safe and comfortable.
WORK SCHEDULE
Weekend Overnight: The shift is 10:00 pm - 8:00 am on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night (30 hours per week). **This position requires the employee to be awake during the night to meet the safety and support needs of the clients.**
WORK LOCATION
The residence is located in Stone Mountain, GA where the employee will work.

TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Caregiving: Assisting with activities of daily living such as helping to maintain a neat and presentable appearance including bathing, styling hair, shaving, oral hygiene care, nail care, and ensuring people wear clean clothes.
Healthcare: Following a prescribed healthcare plan which may include assisting with exercise, preparing meals, guiding food portions, monitoring vitals, performing skin exams, and supervising self-administered medication.
Wellbeing: Monitoring the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of people and reporting changes. Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
Behavioral management: Following and documenting behavior support plans, and offering redirection and intervention.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, including medication documentation, behavior tracking, health tracking, incident reports, and daily progress notes.
Reporting: Notifying designated management persons promptly about health and safety concerns, change in the client's condition, and client falls, injuries or illnesses, as well as potential risks.
Community engagement: Helping people integrate into their local community, and encouraging them to engage in social networks.
Transportation: Providing transportation to appointments, social outings, and other activities.
Housekeeping: Completing tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, dishwashing, tidying, and laundry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a home setting. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, bend, twist, kneel, push, and pull for periods of time as well as see, talk, and hear. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees, visitors, and/or clients. Additionally, the employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to work at any location as needed and be responsible for own transportation to and from these locations.
