JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are patient, empathetic, demonstrate a caring approach, and have good communication skills to teach life skills and self-care skills to people served. The DSP provides individualized quality care which promotes their rights, dignity, respect, and freedom of choice. The DSP is attentive, observant, and committed to making the client feel safe and comfortable.
- The clientele is 4 adult females
WORK SCHEDULE
Weekends: Every other Saturday and Sunday from 8am-10pm
WORK LOCATION
The residence is located in Stone Mountain, GA where the employee is assigned to work.

TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Caregiving: Assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, the use of incontinence products or providing bathroom visit support, and meal preparation.
Healthcare: Following a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise, monitoring vitals, and supervising self-administered medication.
Wellbeing: Monitoring the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of clients and reporting changes. Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
Behavioral management: Following and documenting behavioral support plans, and offering redirection and intervention.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, including medication documentation, behavioral tracking, incident reports, and daily progress notes.
Community engagement: Helping people integrate into their local community, and encouraging them to engage in social networks.
Transportation: Providing transportation to appointments, social outings, and other activities.
Housekeeping: Completing tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, dishwashing, tidying, and laundry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must pass a national background check and fingerprinting.
- Valid Georgia driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR AED certifications.
- Obtain a negative Tuberculosis screen.
- Able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Proficient with using computers, tablets, and smartphones.
- Able to lawfully and safely drive an agency vehicle in all traffic situations and weather conditions.
- Possess a high degree of patience and the ability to tolerate frustrating situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a home setting. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, bend, twist, kneel, push, and pull for periods of time as well as see, talk, and hear. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees, visitors, and/or clients. Additionally, the employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to work at any location as needed and be responsible for own transportation to and from these locations.
