GENERAL SUMMARY
The Facilities Assistant will report to the Facilities Manager and will be working at various St. Matthew’s House properties. The Facilities Assistant will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of all SMH properties. St. Matthew’s House is a faith based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that exists to transform lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Help with regular maintenance of the indoor and/or outdoor areas of all SMH properties, as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Tasks include but are not limited to: painting, landscaping, light carpentry, addressing minor issues with electrical and plumbing systems and general property needs
- Complete all work orders in a timely manner and report completion to Facilities Manager in real-time
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and quality checks on all facility equipment and systems and report any identified issues or concerns immediately to the Facilities Manager
- Always work in a safe manner following all established safety rules and regulations
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies and submit paperwork on parts usage and ordering needs to the Facilities Manager

Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Confidentiality: Works with confidential information and must adhere to anonymity policies
Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4 hours at a time and lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to bend or kneel to the ground for extended periods of time.
Working Areas: Outdoor, sometimes hot environment.
Requirements: Must have valid FL driver’s license and transportation.
