What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at St Maximilian Kolbe Church?
Looking for someone to work full-time, 30-35 hrs per week, or as agreed upon with supervisor.
Oversee and personally supervise and engage in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, maintenance and custodial care of buildings, grounds and equipment in such a way as to provide a safe and clean worship and working environment for St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and Academy, and its properties.
- Oversee buildings, grounds, material assets, including preventative maintenance, insurance inspections, and compliance with safety regulations
- Proven ability to source vendors and negotiate contracts, ensure insurance certification
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors and staff for maintenance and repair projects
- Self-perform minor repairs and custodial tasks as needed
- Maintain budgets, monitor expenditures, and approve invoices
- Record and manage inventory, maintenance logs, and vendor contracts
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to be able to make decisions appropriate to the role
- Ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate custodial and facility staff
- Develop schedules, approve timecards, provide ongoing training and support
- Oversee building access, security systems, and key management
- Physically able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, bend, crawl, push, operate motor vehicles/equipment
- Reliable vehicle for required errands (mileage reimbursed)
Qualifications
- Special Boilers License preferred, and/or willing to take the exam (paid by employer)
- Bachelor’s degree in business or facilities (preferred)
- Proven ability to provide general electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
- Knowledge of HVAC maintenance
- Experience in supervision of custodial staff and volunteers
- Available for evening or weekend emergencies, and occasional special events
- The facility manager assists in the preparation, as well as some participation, of special events.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Computer proficiency; google, word, excel, email
- Able to pass Archdiocese background check, Virtus training and physical examination
