4th Grade Teacher

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking to hire a 4th Grade Teacher to join its team of collaborative, hard-working, and experienced group of educators. As a teacher at St. Michael, you will feel welcomed and supported by our school and parish communities as we work together to make 2024-2025 an academic year rich in faith, joy and learning.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver thoughtful and effective lessons that engage students in meaningful learning appropriate for 4th Grade, while recognizing individual learning needs.
• Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning which supports St. Michael’s mission and provides optimal learning opportunities.
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents, students, colleagues, principal and all stakeholders of St. Michael School around academics, behavior, safety, and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues in grade level departments and throughout school to develop and implement positive behavior expectations and relationships.
• Contribute to faith community of school through personal modeling and active participation, such as conducting prayer, participation in religious celebrations, and teaching Catholic values through word and example.
• Maintain appropriate and safe conduct in the classroom and throughout the campus ensuring student safety and supervision at all times.
• Be present, ready to work and on time to meet all schedules and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minnesota teaching licensure (elementary education preferred)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Proven working experience as an elementary teacher or educational assistant
• Ability to plan and implement lessons with a focus on content and academic goals
• Ability to evaluate student progress and identify areas where further learning is needed
• Comfort with the use of a variety of activities, instructional methods, and technology to encourage children’s interests and motivation for learning
• Strong ability to supervise children actively to ensure safety through a range of activities throughout the day
• Successful completion of background check and VIRTUS certification (upon hiring)

Location:

St. Michael Catholic School is located in downtown Prior Lake, about 20 minutes from Bloomington and Burnsville.
