Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details Cardiac PCU 5th Floor Unit : Cardiac PCU (5th Floor) of beds : 24 Ratios : 1 : 3-4 for PCU level acuity Common diagnoses / Types of patients : TAVR, Post Caths- TR bands and fem stops, Temporary / transvenous pacemakers, VATS, lobectomies, POD 4-5 CABG, Thoracic- fem pops, etc. Minimum of 2 years experience in PCU Charge Nurse / House Supervisor : Yes, charge nurse Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable & / or set rate drips : nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetolol, milrinone, argatroban, aggrostat Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : MD availability should be hospitalist not intensivist RT in ICU 24 / 7 : RT dedicated to unit Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes. Offsite central monitoring. Nurses are required to watch the monitors and measure and interpret their own strips. Job Requirements BLS & ACLS required NIHSS, CRRN, PCCN preferred not required Minimum of 2 years experience in PCU Schedule Information Shifts : 07-1930, 1900-0730 6 weeks at a time Self scheduling, balanced then reviewed by the manager Weekend Requirement : EOW weekend at minimum, Sat, Sun, Mon have high needs Holiday Requirement : at least 1 major holiday during the holiday season Unit Specific Information Scrub Color / Dress Code : Any professional color scrubs Unit / Department specific orientation : Can test out of Epic if experienced within the last year. (EPIC experience preferred). 8 hour Epic class in Tacoma in a centralized education department along with an 8 hour onboarding and education day, tours etc and then 1 Shift with a preceptor. Additional Details Region III : Primary to St. Michael Medical Center but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region Three : St Anthony Hospital – Gig Harbor, WA; St. Michael Medical Center – Silverdale, WA. Additional $20 / hr when floated within Region III that’s not the primary facility. Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able to re-add that back in.
