St. Michael’s Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Human Subjects Research Scientist to join our team and work directly with our Department of Defense (DoD) client. This client-facing position will be advising and implementing sound Human Research Policy. You will be a key advisor to the Chief Medical Officer of a large military command organization. WHO YOU ARE
- Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in science or technology; (3 years of relevant additional experience will be considered in lieu of education)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing any combination of Medical and Non-Medical Human Subjects Research project or program support in the following areas:
- Human subjects research regulation and policy analysis
- Human subjects research regulatory compliance
- Publishing formal Human subjects research guidance/interpretation of regulation and policy governing human subjects research protection
- Developing and implementing human subjects research protection programs in a government or academic institution
- Employing scientific literature search automation tools, i.e. Lexis-Nexis Database or entering program and project materials into DoD databases.
- Highly organized and systematic
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Federal experience is preferred
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess Department of Navy (DON) commands, institutions, and extramural collaborators for compliance with applicable Federal regulations, DoD instructions, and DON instructions regarding Navy and Marine Corps research.
- Continually develop and maintain DON Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) guidance documentation of DON HRPP policies and procedures.
- Conduct training on emerging issues and changes to regulatory requirements.
- Providing administrative, program management and additional support on tasks such as analysis, budget, travel, and information system support
