Job Summary:
The Assistant Football Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the football program at [School Name]. Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Training:
- Assist in the design and implementation of practice sessions, training drills, and game strategies.
- Provide on-field instruction to help players develop fundamental skills, technique, and game intelligence.
- Support the Head Coach in game planning and in-season adjustments.
- Team & Program Management:
- Help maintain and enforce team rules and policies, ensuring they reflect the school’s commitment to integrity, respect, and Catholic values.
- Supervise and mentor student-athletes, promoting academic success, character development, and a balanced lifestyle.
- Coordinate with school administration regarding scheduling, facility use, and compliance with athletic regulations.
- Administrative Duties:
- Assist in managing equipment, travel logistics, and game-day operations.
- Ensure all required paperwork (such as physicals, parental consent forms, and eligibility documents) is current and accurately filed.
- Attend required departmental, league, and school meetings to stay informed of policy updates and best practices.
- Catholic Identity & Community Engagement:
- Serve as a role model for Catholic values both on and off the field.
- Encourage participation in school Mass, prayer, or other faith-based activities that reinforce the school’s mission.
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members to promote a unified school spirit and ethical sportsmanship.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, sports management, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior coaching experience at the high school level is highly desirable.
- Certifications & Skills:
- Valid CPR/AED certification and willingness to complete any additional safety or coaching certifications required by the school.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff and with the broader school community.
