Job Title: Head Swim Coach

Job Summary:
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School seeks a passionate and experienced Head Swim Coach to lead our boys' and girls' swimming programs. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering athletic excellence, personal growth, and faith-based values in student-athletes. The Head Swim Coach will be responsible for developing a competitive program while maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and character.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the high school swim program, including practices, meets, and team events.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance athletes’ technical skills, endurance, and competitive performance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture rooted in Catholic values, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Supervise assistant coaches and collaborate with school administration to ensure the success of the program.
- Ensure student-athletes meet academic and eligibility requirements in accordance with school and league policies.
- Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and logistics for meets and training sessions.
- Promote sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and a strong work ethic among student-athletes.
- Engage with parents, alumni, and the broader school community to support and grow the program.
- Maintain responsibility for the safety and well-being of student-athletes, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Manage the swim team budget and fundraising efforts in collaboration with school administration.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or club level; head coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and competition rules.
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop student-athletes both athletically and personally.
- Commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic school education.
