What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Aide position at St Monica Center for Rehab and Healthcare?
Rehab Aide unnder close supervision of the Therapist, perform only delegated, selected, or routine tasks in specific situations. These duties include preparing the patient and the treatment area:
- Clean and organize work area and disinfect equipment after treatment.
- Practices infection control procedures in cleaning of mats, therapy equipment and toys using a hospital approved disinfectant as per facility policy and procedure and including areas such as waiting area, ADL kitchen, gym, breakout rooms and therapy treatment space Performing administrative tasks, including ordering supplies, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments.
- Preparing equipment and treatment rooms.
- Observing patients performing prescribed physical exercises and immediately reporting concerns.
- Documenting patients' responses to treatment and updating patient files.
- Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under direction of the therapist.
- Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.
- Assists with patient care activities as appropriate under the direct supervision of a clinician (ex. ADLs, patient transport, pool, exercise program, etc.)
- Assists clinicians in preparation and clean up for patient care.
- Maintains a safe environment for patient care activities.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of general supplies and equipment. Orders and follows up on receipt of supplies and equipment in timely manner. Maintains temperature logs and monitors inspection of therapy equipment as indicated.
- Provides additional support to staff as needed. (pantry order, hand washing monitor, MSDS book, photocopying, voicemails, volunteer orientation, data collection and entry, etc.)
- Completes any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
o Create and maintain a safe effective environment
o Excellent Verbal/Communication and collaborations abilities
o Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred, but not required
o Ability to adapt and be flexible with changes in workload
o Ability to perform task that require physical strength.
