St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college invites applications for the Director of the Sturzl and Norman Miller Centers. This position is a member of the Division of Mission and Heritage and is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the work of the Norman Miller Center (NMC) for Peace, Justice, and Public Understanding and the Sturzl Center (SC) for Community Service and Learning.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships with mission aligned community-based organizations to support community-based experiential learning opportunities, while promoting the mission of St. Norbert College through service and community engagement. In partnership with Sturzl Center professional and student staff, strategize co-curricular service-learning programs for students including the alternative break service trips program (TRIPS), Communio in Action, and the Residential Service Program. Provide support for academic service-learning partnerships including the Federal Work Study tutor program and the Village Project service opportunity for all first-year education majors, in partnership with faculty, college departments, and community partners.
- Supervise one full time professional and multiple student staff including onboarding, annual performance evaluation, professional development, program support, development of departmental learning goals and outcomes, and student learning assessment; leverage departmental and college data to strategize and lead the ongoing development, delivery, and assessment of an integrated community engagement curriculum that embeds the Catholic, Norbertine and liberal arts mission and values in the student experience through service with local community organizations and around the country.
- Attend, lead, and participate in committee meetings and campus-wide assignments. This includes standing appointments on the Peace and Justice Minor Committee, Norman Miller Center Advisory Committee, and Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee, along with strategic plan committees and other campus-wide responsibilities as requested.
- NMC program planning, publicity and oversight (special planning meetings, correspondence, personal participation) in collaboration with student workers and a program coordinator. Programming includes the Ambassador of Peace award and annual Miller Lecture, involving collaboration, often with donors and off-campus partners.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility over budgets, grants, and endowments for the Sturzl Center and Norman Miller Center. Manage donor relations and fundraising for the SC and NMC and participate in college advancement or promotional activities as requested. Present to internal and external stakeholders on the work of the SC and NMC, and represent the SC and NMC at local and national conferences and events.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the senior leadership team of the Division of Mission and Heritage to strategize ways to advance the Catholic, Norbertine, and Liberal Arts mission of St. Norbert College.
Supervision Exercised Over:
- Assistant Director of the Sturzl Center for Community Service and Learning
- Student workers: 3-10 student workers and 2-4 federal work study tutors
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education -
- Master's degree related field required.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated effectiveness in higher education programs and goal oriented and assessment driven program development.
- Values compatible with and supportive of St. Norbert College’s mission as a Catholic, Norbertine, Liberal Arts college.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in supervision, coaching, and budget management.
- Knowledge of current practices and trends in community engagement and service-learning best practices. Experience working with Catholic service organizations, K-12 partners, tutor programs and/or Teacher Education programs, and/or other non-profit experiences preferred.
- Knowledge of service-learning program goals, objectives, policies, procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and mission based charitable work.
- Strong interpersonal skills including coaching and capacity building with students, faculty, administrators, and community partners.
- Ability to support students' whole-person development through community engagement.
- Skilled at continuous improvement and learning outcome assessment.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Skilled in communicating to variety of constituents and group sizes and in multiple modalities.
- Skilled in grant and donor development.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community leaders.
- Ability to advocate for Catholic, Liberal Arts and Norbertine traditions on campus and with community partners.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner.
- Ability to work with Catholic schools, churches, and the Diocese of Green Bay.
- Ability to use a variety of computer applications such as Google Suite, Canvas, Workday, Zoom, etc.
