Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Women’s Basketball Camp Counselor role supports all aspects of camp including supervision, instructional support, coaching, recreational activities, and camp operations. Camp hours: 8am - 3pm daily. Lunch is provided.
Transferable Skills:
Analyze skills and provide detailed feedback, demonstrate leadership and guidance, coaching and instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide sport-specific instruction and training under the direction of the head coach.
Organize and/or assist with daily activities.
Provide supervision of campers at assigned activities, both instructional and recreational, for the duration of the camp session(s).
Be responsive and reachable throughout the duration of camp, and on-campus during camp hours.
Apply basic youth development principles in working with students through inclusivity, communication, relationship development, and respect.
Be aware of and implement all safety guidelines. Follow and uphold all security rules and
procedures. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers.
Interact with people from a diversity of backgrounds and experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Applicants should have a background in competitive basketball and working with youth.
