Description/Purpose of the Position: To assist German Department faculty in teaching, research, and other department tasks

Duties and Responsibilities: To assist German Department faculty member(s) in preparing course materials, marking homework and quizzes, and carrying out special projects as assigned. Student Assistant(s) assigned to the instructor(s) of German 231 or 232 will, in addition, prepare and staff the weekly evening Help Session.
Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills): Hiring preference given to German majors or German Studies concentrators and/or students with familiarity with the German 111-232 curriculum. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and strong German language skills. Minimum language qualification: completion of German 232 (4th-semester level) with grade of A- or better, or equivalent. Enthusiasm for promoting learning German language and culture. Skill in using GoogleSuite, Canva or similar design applications, Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to quickly learn new software, such as online grammar workbooks.
