Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position)
The Graphic Design Specialist will be part of the Student Operations Team (or Ops Team), which supports the administrative, data, marketing and technology needs of the office. Each member of the team will specialize in a specific area of operations and contribute to other efforts of the team as needed.

Students will:
- Complete in-depth training on St. Olaf career and vocational resources
- Apply marketing and visual design skills in a professional context
- Contribute ideas for making the Piper Center even more effective Get to know the professional staff of the Piper Center
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create visual designs to advertise Piper Center events and resources for use in print materials and the Piper Center website using Adobe Illustrator and other design tools
- Adhere to Piper Center brand standards
- Work with Piper Center staff to understand staff expectations and event audiences Contribute to marketing strategy
As members of the broader Operations Team, Graphic Design Specialists may also:
- Update and edit the Piper Center web pages using Wordpress Photograph the occasional LinkedIn headshot
Operations Team members are expected to work 6 hours per week.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
We are looking for the following traits and skills:
- Proficiency with InDesign. Ideal candidates will also have experience with some of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, DSLR cameras, Wordpress, basic HTML
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well independently and to collaborate effectively with staff
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Desire to work in a professional office setting Positive attitude and interest in the Piper Center’s programs and resources
