Description / Purpose of the Position : This position serves as a peer communication resource to residents and support for the Residence Life Team. Understanding the unique blend of skills and qualities that empower an individual in the role of a brand ambassador is critical to fostering effective brand representation. These individuals not only carry a sense of responsibility towards the brands they partner with, but also embody traits like adaptability and knowledgeability that set them apart as influential promoters in today's ever-evolving market landscape.
Skills Needed :
- Knowledge of marketing, branding, and communications.
- Study to understand the needs of college-age students, residents of St.Olaf College, and student supporters, i.e., families.
- Comfortability with social media, specifically, FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Excellent communication skills : verbal and written.
- Ability to address conflict and challenges within the public in a meaningful manner.
- Relatability : Ability to share personal stories of life at St.Olaf College. The staff member must be able to understand and communicate the connection between residence life, on-campus living, and the college experience.
- Flexible and adaptable communication and engagement delivery to the space, and targeted audience.
