Job Summary:
The Business Development Executive will join our talented group of inside sales professionals to help our business continue growing! Using your expert inside sales skills, you will effectively market St. Onge Company’s subject matter expertise as a leader in supply chain and logistics engineer consulting. You will create and build client relationships with key stakeholders (VP and C-Suite level) while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. Your target clients will primarily be leaders in the Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, eCommerce, Life Sciences, Healthcare Retail/Wholesale, Military & Government, Industrial, and Automotive Parts Distribution verticals.
Experience Requirement:
- 6 years of inside sales, selling professional services. Experience in supply chain and material handling is ideal.
- Understanding of supply chain and material handling technology
- Strong relationship building and social skills
- Ability to build and manage a strategic network that is internal and external to our industry
- Effective communication skills through phone, email, and in person
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
- Ability to think, plan, and execute effective penetration of vertical markets, prospective accounts, and upper management
Education Requirement:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related discipline is required, but relevant equivalent experience is acceptable.
Computer Skills:
- High level of proficiency with MS Office software, especially MS Word and Excel
Key Responsibilities:
- Pursue companies with revenues over $200 million
- Identify and research target companies and industry verticals
- Organize and track all business development leads and opportunities
- Coordinate efforts with Director and VP of Business Development
- Participate in trade shows
- Target and develop new business for specific market segments and geographical regions
- Schedule introductory appointments in person or by telephone
- Identify, establish, and develop key executive and upper management relationships
- Ability to analyze market trends
- Ability to create actionable marketing strategies
- Nuanced understanding of company’s goals and business model

Work Environment:
It is primarily a controlled office environment with occasional travel to trade shows; extensive travel may sometimes be required based on project requirements, which may vary depending on business needs. Overnight travel could be required via various modes of transportation, including automobiles, planes, and buses.
Physical Demands:
St Onge Company offers hybrid and remote office options. Duties may involve lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is business-dependent and typically ranges from 10-30%. It may be extensive at times and less extensive at others. Travel may be local car travel, regional train travel, or domestic or international Air travel.
