TERM: Beginning August 27, 2025. Last day October 31, 2025
WORK STATUS: Substitute, Non-exempt, At-will position
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
POSITION SUMMARY: The Long Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage and the development and/or implementation of lesson plans for the Kindergarten teacher who will be absent for an extended period of time. The long-term substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence. Work hours are 7:30am – 3:15pm, Monday-Friday.
JOB DUTIES:
● Effectively manage a classroom of Kindergarten students by keeping students on task
● Instruct students based on subject- or grade-specific curriculum
● Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours
● Any other duties as requested by the school
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
● Follow through with commitment to the entire duration of the assignment; you will work in the same classroom daily and there will be an aide to assist.

● Maintain staff and student confidentiality
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
● Must have ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions
● Must have ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions required the following physical demands: frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking, standing, and occasional squatting.
CLEARANCE: Must pass a CORI check and take the VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children course though the Archdiocese of Boston
