Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment

We are seeking to fill the position of Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment for the Specialty Dementia Unit.
- Full-Time, Monday through Friday - 8:30a to 4:30p.
- $17 to $19.74 per hour based on experience.
Activities Assistant Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of arts and crafts, preferably in a geriatric setting.
- Computer literate with training on entering resident care plan codes (MDS), preferred.
- Must be able to speak, write and understand English.
Activities Assistant Working Conditions:
- Bending, standing, sitting, lifting, walking and moving intermittently during working hours.
- Must assist in the evacuation of residents as necessary.
Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Job Summary:
- Assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities programs of the facility.
- Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
- Assist the Activity Director with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident.
- Review and report on resident assessments.
- Develop and maintain a good rapport with all the services involved with the care plan.
- Encourage social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.
- Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts; provide materials as necessary.
- Assists in the transportation of residents to activities.
