St. Patrick's Parish in Rockville Maryland is hiring a full time Facilities Manager to maintain the the Parish buildings and grounds.
This is a full time, on-site role and will report to the Pastor. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm

The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the parish buildings and grounds. This role involves performing and supervising tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental concerns, safety, custodial services, and event coordination. The Facilities Manager collaborates with and supports the Pastor, School Principal, parish staff, and parishioners to ensure smooth operations and a safe environment. This role is available immediately and will supervise one assistant.
Major Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance: Manage and perform maintenance tasks related to parish buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors servicing the campus, including scheduling and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Facility Oversight: Oversee the Church, Rectory, School, and Parish Center to ensure proper maintenance and security.
- Proposals and Contracts: Facilitate proposals, quotes, and contracts, responding promptly to the Pastor and Business Manager for approvals.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain equipment on parish grounds, conducting necessary testing and keeping accurate records of all maintenance and repairs. Perform repairs as needed.
- Emergency Response: Oversee and provide emergency clean-up services when required.
- Event Coordination: Manage event logistics, ensuring proper scheduling of set-up and takedown of chairs and tables for meetings, events, worship services, weddings, funerals, and other parish activities.
- Building Safety: Ensure all facilities meet building code requirements to maintain safety standards.
- Reporting: Work with the Pastor and School Principal to report problems, solutions, and costs associated with projects and repairs.
- Supervision: Supervise all parish groundskeepers, maintenance, and custodial employees. Cleaning services are outsourced and not included in direct supervision. The Facilities Manager will also supervise an assistant.
- Contractor Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with all contractors and vendors to ensure efficient facility operations.
- Key Distribution: Assist with key distribution as requested by the Pastor or School Principal.
- IT Support: Assist the parish IT department with facility-related changes as needed.
- Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of parish properties to identify concerns and report them to the Pastor, School Principal, and Business Manager.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with all policies as they relate to parish facilities.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all Diocesan policies and procedures.
- Snow Removal: Provide snow removal services as needed.
- After-Hours Availability: Be available outside of normal working hours, including weekends, to address urgent matters and support parish needs.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the parish's operations run smoothly and safely.
