St. Paul Parish Early Learning Center, located in South Seattle is seeking a full-time Early Learning Assistant for our newly established faith-based full day, year-round program. An ideal applicant is enthusiastic, patient, and enjoys working with young children ages 3, 4, and 5 years old. We are a licensed program by the Department of Early Learning and the applicant should have current knowledge of Washington State Licensed Childcare Regulations. We provide a safe, nurturing, positive and collaborative community that prepares children for success in kindergarten. Children have time to play and participate in research-based learning which builds a strong foundation for early literacy though cross-curricular activities, and a focus on social-emotional development preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain an environment that promotes cooperation, learning, and enjoyment
- Communicates and builds positive relations with students, parents, and staff
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for learning
- Helps with daily, weekly, and monthly general housekeeping tasks
- Assists with supervision of children inside and outside the classroom
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Be able to follow written and verbal directions
Needs to obtain before starting (upon hiring) and have in personnel file:
- Create a Merit Account and establish a STARS ID number
- Complete a DCYF portable background check
- Complete a HIV/AIDS/Blood-borne Pathogen training online
- Obtain a Washington Food Service Permit
- Written verification of a negative TB test result
- Proof of MMR – measles resistance
- Copy of ID such as a driver’s license or passport
Needs to be completed within 3 months of hiring:
- Complete CPR/First Aid class
- Complete Childcare Basics (30 hours) through your Merit account
- Complete Safe Environment training through Archdiocese of Seattle
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.72 per hour
