Church Musician-St. Paul’s Lutheran, Hampton, VA
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hampton, VA will have an opening in March 2025 for a music director/organist. Pianists willing to learn to play the organ are also highly encouraged to apply. St. Paul's congregation appreciates a wide variety of music from beloved old hymns to more contemporary pieces. This position is approximately half-time (15-20 hours/week). Responsibilities include accompanying Sunday morning and seasonal (Advent & Lent) evening services, directing adult vocal and hand bell choir rehearsals, selecting hymns, choir anthems, and instrumental music, and playing, when available, for services related to life passages (weddings/funerals). Church Instruments: W. Zimmer two manual, nine-rank pipe organ manufactured in 1970, refurbished in 2006. Yamaha six-foot grand piano, C2P/E model, purchased 2006. 3 1/2 octave Malmark Handbells, G3-C7. Kurzweil PC88MX electronic stage piano.
