What You Will Do:
- Maintains existing plantings throughout campus.
- Installs new plantings, trees, shrubs, mulch throughout campus.
- Operates various equipment for landscape operations and snow and ice management.
- Performs minor repairs to grounds equipment and vehicles.
- Performs routine maintenance on select grounds equipment.
- Mows grounds on mowers or push mowers.
- Trims and weed eats as assigned.
- Removal of trash.
- Assists in moving resident furniture as needed.
- Other grounds work as assigned.
NON‑ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common equipment mechanical failures. Ability to work with little supervision given proper instructions. Ability to follow instructions given either orally or in written fashion. Must have ability to do heavy lifting and be in good physical condition. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid drivers license.
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- St. Paul’s vehicles, grounds equipment and snow and ice removal equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to adapt to all types of working conditions. May work in a well-lighted, ventilated, air conditioned and heated building or may be exposed to extreme outside weather conditions, rain, snow, heat, and cold. May be exposed to resident elements. Heavy lifting required at times. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to themselves, others, or property. Must adhere to St. Paul’s personnel policies and practices including, but not limited to, the attendance policy.
