The Opportunity
As our General Manager, you’ll be the operational and cultural engine of St. Pete Athletic. From opening day through every evolving chapter, you’ll be responsible for turning vision into action—leading a multi-faceted team across hospitality, athletics, member experience, events, and retail.
You’ll shape the service standards that will set the tone for Tampa Bay’s hospitality scene. You’ll hire, coach, and lead a team of passionate individuals. You’ll help build the place where the best in the business want to work, grow, and stay.
This is not a clipboard-and-checklist job. It’s a leadership role for someone who knows how to build teams, drive performance, and create the kind of culture that makes both guests and staff feel like they’ve found something special.
What You’ll Do
Launch the Club
- Partner with ownership to bring St. Pete Athletic to life—playing a major role with hiring, systems setup, vendor coordination, purchasing, team onboarding, soft launches, and everything in between.
Build and Elevate a Hospitality Culture
- Instill a philosophy of care, excellence, and unexpected delight throughout every guest touchpoint.
- Be the “host-in-chief”—visible, present, approachable, and in tune with the heartbeat of the club.
Develop & Lead High-Performing Teams
- Recruit, train, and mentor department leaders and frontline team members.
- Lead Cross-Functional Operations, from food & beverage, events, and marketing, to athletics, wellness, retail, and member experience.
- Ensure seamless day-to-day execution across all departments, maintaining high performance and joyful guest interactions.
- Foster a culture where people feel proud to work—and where careers are built, not burned out.
Drive Business Performance
- Help set, track, and achieve key performance goals related to guest satisfaction, revenue, cost controls, and team engagement.
- Manage budgets, staffing plans, and operational efficiency without ever compromising the guest experience.
- Collaborate with the ownership team on programming, partnerships, innovation, and long-term strategy.
- Provide insights and on-the-ground feedback while executing shared decisions with clarity and care.
Who You Are
- You’ve led hospitality teams in multi-faceted environments: resorts, lifestyle clubs, boutique hotels, high-end fitness or wellness centers.
- You’re as comfortable in a pre-opening strategy meeting as you are walking the floor during Saturday brunch.
- You’re a leader, not a manager—skilled at setting vision, giving feedback, coaching performance, and building a strong bench.
- You communicate clearly, think critically, and solve problems proactively.
- You know hospitality isn’t just a department—it’s a mindset.
- You’re financially fluent and understand how to align people, experience, and profit.
- You bring calm confidence to conflict and magnetic energy to the everyday.
