St. Peter Academy (South Boston, MA) seeks three (4) highly motivated, experienced Early Childhood (Toddler) teacher for an opening in a new classroom to accommodate the school's growing enrollment. Saint Peter Academy (SPA) is a small, non-profit urban school in the progressive community of South Boston, MA. The mission of St Peter Academy is to encourage lifelong learning through a rigorous differentiated curriculum. Utilizing innovative best practices, each child is recognized as an individual and is encouraged to attain their maximum potential – spiritually, emotionally, academically, physically and socially. We are a close knit, diverse community of learners who foster social justice with a sincere understanding and respect for all people. Our history is rooted in Catholic values and teachings. Teachers at SPA are expected to challenge their students on a daily basis. Given our small class sizes, our teachers have a unique opportunity to provide each child with significant individual attention, be creative with group lessons, and help each child to achieve their true academic potential. Our unique community allows teachers to partner with parents and board members to achieve a fast paced, high caliber learning environment for our students. Requirements for the Early-Childhood (Toddler) Teacher Position: •Certificate from an accredited program or Bachelor’s degree in Early-Childhood Education •Experience and skill in developing and actualizing curriculum-based lesson plans •The ability to challenge students through rigorous instruction that incorporates interactive, fun and engaging lessons which celebrate and respect students' individual growth rates and academic levels •The ability to plan and conduct lessons for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate •A commitment to ensure academic success for all students, along with a sincere desire to engage and collaborate with parents, guardians, and families, for the benefit of every child •The ability to build and maintain a safe, nurturing, respectful educational environment •Excellent teamwork, communication, and organization skills •A shared dedication to philosophy and mission of St. Peter Academy •Creativity and humor Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:40 AM to 4:40 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Compensation: Commensurate with experience About St Peter Academy: St. Peter Academy is an intentionally small, independent, community-based private school that serves students from ages 15 months (toddler) through Grade 6.
