Position Overview:
The Part-Time School Nurse will provide healthcare services, promote wellness, and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff. Guided by Catholic values, the nurse will support our students' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Days/times needed are Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 until 1:00.
Primary Responsibilities:
Health Services:
- Provide first aid, care for minor injuries, and manage acute illnesses for students and staff.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician instructions and parental authorization.
- Maintain accurate records of all health-related incidents, treatments, and communications.
Health Screenings and Referrals:
- Conduct screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, scoliosis) as required by state regulations.
- Identify and refer students for further medical evaluation when necessary.
Health Education and Advocacy:
- Promote wellness through education on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Serve as a resource for parents, students, and staff regarding health concerns.
Faith-Based Support:
- Demonstrate compassion and a Christ-centered approach to healthcare, emphasizing respect and dignity for all.
Qualifications:
- Valid State Nursing License (RN or LPN required).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
