Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented Bartender/Banquet Bartender to join our team. The bartender will provide fast, friendly, and courteous service to every member while maintaining a high degree of professionalism at all times. He/she may be responsible for the Heritage Lounge, Grille 1909 Bar, and/or Tiki Bar as well as for the setup and execution of banquet events and for maintaining all equipment and facilities in an organized, safe, and clean manner. All duties will be performed within the guidelines of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.
The ideal candidate is at least 18 years old and has a pleasant and courteous personality, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and bartending experience. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
A bartender is responsible for crafting cocktails, serving alcohol and beer, pouring wine, and overall serving the customer.

The benefits listed below are dependent on number of hours worked.
Salary
- During training: $15.00 p/hr. (estimated 20–30 hrs of training over a 2-week period) *length will depend on schedule restrictions and level of experience. There will be NO gratuity during the training period.
- Training complete: Hourly wage between $10.75 - $18.00 depending on location. *automatic gartiuty added to the check. More information will be provided at the interview stage.
Responsibilities
- Performs any duties assigned by the Heritage Lounge Supervisor, Catering Manager, Banquet Captain, and Bar Supervisor
- Performs any duties assigned by the Supervisor, Catering Manager, and Banquet Captain
- Follows all policies and procedures pertaining to liquor laws
- Maintains full knowledge of the Lounge cocktails and contract information for each event
- Completes designated opening and closing side work daily and checks with manager or supervisor before clocking out
- Attends all necessary training meetings
- Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted
- Helps ensure that events are on time, making adjustments as needed and relaying that information to the appropriate personnel
- Ensures a proper bar experience for all members, which includes delivering items, fulfilling member needs, and refilling glasses
- Helps with clean up duties and ensures work areas are clean, organized, and sanitary
- Follows all company policies, procedures, and standards regarding job duties, attendance, personal appearance and demeanor, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Bartending experience preferred
- Food Handlers Card
- Tips Trained
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition
- Must remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak English fluently and to read and write in basic English
- Must be able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must be able to speak and hear, use close and distance vision, and identify and distinguish colors
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job, which includes standing, walking, and moving through all areas of the club for extended periods; frequently lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds; reaching with hands and arms in any direction; and kneeling and stooping repeatedly
- Must be able to work an indoor or outdoor setting depending on event
- Must be able to work a varying schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates
