FULL-TIME (40 HRS) AM Shift APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $30.00 - $45.00 The Quality Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the effectiveness of clinical care and services based on quality outcomes, cost effectiveness, and patient centeredness. This position is responsible to align and lead quality peer review, core measure compliance, quality committees reporting, and performance improvement initiatives. The Quality Coordinator identifies service line specific opportunities for improvement based on evidence based practices, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and high volume and/or problem prone processes. The Quality Coordinator ensures the ongoing monitoring of high risk areas. This position is responsible for negotiating timelines and priorities for projects, coordinating action plans, and monitoring of results that are consistent with the overall Hospital wide goals and imperatives. Essential Functions: - Annually reviews the Quality and Patient Safety Plans with key stakeholders to ensure overall alignment and compliance with the annual strategic direction. - Reviews the service line indicators on a regular basis and makes recommendations as needed to ensure the service line quality improvement efforts are effective, coordinated, and monitored over time to ensure hardwired. - Ensures that quality improvement activities are directed toward the analysis of data, with a focus on improvement of process. Supports the development and implementation of QAPI Radar Report; ensures that there is a measurable goal(s) and an achievable timeline of planned events. - Responsible for ensuring the QAPI Radar Report plans are progressing forward and barriers are addressed at the Quality Improvement Committee (QIC). - Partners with the Quality Data Analyst and Clinical Analytics team to develop, prepare and distribute reports/charts to service line chairs, department managers, and medical staff committees. - Where applicable, automates reporting by identify appropriate fields for clinical documentation for easy data abstraction and reporting. Support Service line eCQM/ORNYX measures and lead teams towards compliance. - Identifies trends, variances, deficiencies, and problems utilizing aggregated data and information and works with multidisciplinary teams to on improvement efforts. - Conducts case/peer review, periodic practitioner performance reviews, and focused practitioner performance review with assigned departments and ensures that policies and processes are followed. - Effectively establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the medical staff, management team, and staff to achieve best practice outcomes and improve clinical performance. - Accountable for leading multidisciplinary and multi-departmental strategic quality initiatives. - Performs, coordinates, and facilitates quality improvement, patient safety activities, and clinical effectiveness initiatives for assigned units to achieve organizational and unit goals. Works collaboratively with the unit manager and unit based medical directors to ensure ongoing compliance. - Provides content knowledge in the interpretation, implementation, and maintenance of standards to match external requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, Title 22). - Provides leadership for creating a culture of patient safety and works with various constituencies to ensure compliance to the National Patient Safety Goals. - Ensures policies and procedures related to quality are current and maintained. Supports the educational and clinical needs for the patients by working collaboratively with nursing and medical management to review quality patient care. - The Quality Coordinator carries out other duties and tasks assigned by the Department Quality Improvement Manager.

Required Qualification: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING -Bachelors Degree in healthcare or business related field; Masters in public health or health related preferred. Other candidates with appropriate Quality Management or critical care experience may be considered. -RN license, BSN or MSN preferred or previous experience as quality coordinator if not clinical. -CPHQ Preferred -At least 1 -3 year experience in Quality Management, Case Management, Risk Management, or related area. Experience in Quality Improvement preferred. Combination of work experience in a hospital and data analysis experience. Willingness to learn. -Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to facilitate positive working relationships and achieve desired outcomes. Exhibits skills at leading the efforts of multidisciplinary team initiatives -Experience working with physicians and other health care professionals. (ICU, Emergency Department). -Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). -Knowledgeable of statistical analysis and reporting practices pertaining to quality improvement and program evaluation. -Basic project management skills and experience, excellent communication/updates of project to leadership. -Ability to manage work load in an organized manner.
