JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Hours: 7:30 am to 4 pm
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the Medical Nutrition Therapy {MNT} for admitted patients. Task include {but not limited to}: screening and assessing patients, nutrition care plans, patient visitations, nutrition education, department in-services, community programs and health fairs, and assisting in other areas related to the Food and Nutrition department. Assist with service recovery for patients and guests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, or Food and Nutrition.
- Registered Dietitian {RD} credentialed by Commission on Dietetic Registration, or Registration eligible within 6 months of hire.
- State License {LDN} by Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition, or provisional LDN.
Must be able to work anytime weekdays, weekends, and holidays between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. This position is considered non-essential during emergency conditions. Exhibits consistent customer/patient focus showing courtesy and respect. Consistently exceeds customers’ expectation. Willingness to comply with dress code, CARES, and HACCP standards. Must be able to think logically and make decisions based on experience and training. Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills. Computer technology skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: One year experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Frequently (34%-66%) - carrying, handling/feeling
Occasionally (1%-33%) - pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching
