JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Summary of the Job:
Provides administrative leadership for the Orthopedic Surgery Unit of the Medical/Surgical Division. Able to demonstrate business acumen (including financial competency), build effective interpersonal relationships, and lead with a service-oriented philosophy. Accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient care for the specific patient care unit(s) on a 24-hour basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Provides administrative leadership for the Orthopedic Surgery Unit of the Medical/Surgical Division. Able to demonstrate business acumen (including financial competency), build effective interpersonal relationships, and lead with a service-oriented philosophy. Accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient care for the specific patient care unit(s) on a 24-hour basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current LA RN licensure. Three years bedside nursing experience plus two years of progressive management experience required. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check-off.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN and Master’s degree preferred. ALS certification preferred. RN-BC preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing
Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
Physical Demands:
