JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40
Hours : 6 : 30 am - 2 : 30 pm shift
JOB SUMMARY :
Supervises areas of responsibility for the EVS department; ensures a consistently high-level of environmental hygiene and aesthetics to patients, visitors, and staff. This position also is responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management and supervisory team members to support the department in its daily functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and / or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certifications or trainer designation preferred. Must acquire CHEST or CSCT certification within first 12 months of hire.
- One (1) year in supervisory level experience managing staff.
Can distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection. Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where required. Can demonstrate effective use of computers and / or mobile devices for daily job performance activities. Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others. Ability to communicate orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind. Respectfully listens to and respects the viewpoints and ideas of others. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management. Experience with typical EVS equipment / machinery.
Preferred Qualifications : Three (3) years in environmental services and / or acute care related support departments preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EVS software systems preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required, with the exception of lifting overhead (limited to 3 pounds).
Physical Effort required :
Constant (67%-100%) - handling / feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - stooping, crouching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing / pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, crawling, reaching
