JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40
Work Shift : (Monday through Friday) Hours are from 0730- 1600. No call, no weekends, and no holidays.
Summary of the Job : Endoscopy scheduler works with physicians, their offices & nursing units to schedule procedures for the Endoscopy department. Handles telephones and inquiries appropriately. Responsibilities included scheduling and posting Endoscopy cases, distribution of schedules to designated areas. Types all other reports needed for the department. Must demonstrate thoroughness and high degree of accuracy in information gathering and reporting according to procedures. Must have sound knowledge of computer skills.
Minimum Qualifications : High school graduate or equivalent. One year clinic / hospital experience required. Computer, copier and fax, and multi-phone skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Insurance background helpful. Must be flexible and able to work under stressful conditions. Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required. Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision.
Physical Demands :
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
Physical Effort required : Constant (67%-100%) – reaching, handling / feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, pushing / pulling
Occasionally (1%-33%) – carrying, balancing, stooping, crouching
