Description
St. Therese Church is looking for a quality maintenance worker who can assist in maintaining the buildings and grounds of a large campus with multiple buildings.
Responsible for the effective, efficient and safe maintenance, renovation and upkeep of parish and/or school buildings and grounds. Provides routine maintenance for the parish or school buildings and grounds including semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other minor repair work. Grounds work may include mowing, pruning and ice and snow removal with grounds equipment. May maintain inventory of supplies. Alternate titles for this classification include Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Helper.
Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
- Preventive maintenance on multiple buildings
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair preferred
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Performs functions that require use of machines, tools & equipment for the purpose of maintaining a clean & sanitized environment.
- Performs minor, job-related maintenance on custodial equipment, furniture & fixtures (including replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, vacuum bags/belts, etc.)
- Performs routine summer & break maintenance (touch-up painting, strip/wax floors, etc.) as assigned.
- Replenishes restroom and other necessary supplies throughout facility as needed
- Provides set up of school and parish meeting rooms and other spaces for meetings and events per provided instructions, including table/chair placement, podiums, stage equipment, etc.)
- Other tasks related to the cleaning & maintenance of school and parish facilities as assigned.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions independently from supervisor
- Ability to work independently, or with a team
- Ability to work out doors in various weather conditions if needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Related experience preferred
- Receives general supervision from Facilities Manager
