Assistant Softball Coach

St. Thomas Aquinas College invites applications for the position of Assistant Softball Coach. Under the direction of the Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in the administration of the College Division II Athletic Program.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Assist head coach with practices, player development, recruiting and community engagement
• Coordinate team travel
• Oversee academic monitoring of the student-athletes
• Assist in the coordination of fundraising
• Other duties assigned by the head coach

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in physical education, recreation or related field
• Knowledge of NCAA rules/regulations
• Previous college lacrosse playing or coaching experience at any college level preferred
• Strong organizational skills, effective written, and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff
• General knowledge of rules and/or experience officiating a sporting activity
• Positive attitude & ability to motivated young women
• Promotion of mental health and a balanced lifestyle as a student-athlete
• Additional Requirements
• Travel required (Including nights & weekends)
• Candidates will be subject to a background check
• Must maintain a driver’s license in good standing
• Ability and willingness to drive team vans
