When you join our Canon City diagnostic imaging department as a Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Technician, you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals on a mission to provide thoughtful care to their community.
We provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs while following standards of safe radiation practice. We ask that as an Ultrasound Technician, you demonstrate leadership for other associate technologists, and act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assure current standards of practice for the unit.
- HS Diploma or GED required

ARDMS - registered required RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR);
- or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT) or ARDMS registered RVT(VT) with OB or ABD required within 1 year or hire, or ARRT registered - R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT)
- or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required

At St Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, our Imaging department does diagnostic imaging with 3 X-ray rooms including one Fluoro room, Ultrasound, Mammography, CT, MR, and Nuclear Medicine. Our patient population includes patients of all ages, with many being of the retirement age.
We serve outpatients, inpatients, OR, and ED patients including trauma patients that we will stabilize before transferring. Many of our techs are trained in multiple modalities offering continuous opportunities for growth inside and outside our department. Our small but mighty team thrives on teamwork and collaboration. Together, we go above and beyond to ensure top of the line patient safety and satisfaction.
