Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic School, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, provides a dynamic education centered in Christ to students preK-8. We are seeking a fourth grade long term substitute beginning in February 2025 through June 2025.
Responsibilities
Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for fourth grade students based on standards.
Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction using a variety of proven methods.
Consult and plan with the 4-5 grade band teachers regularly.
Differentiate lessons as needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability or instructional level.
Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using a variety of methods.
Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan.
Update the learning management system (Canvas) weekly with lesson plans and activities.
Communicate with parents regularly regarding student progress, potential and behavior.
Execute other responsibilities and duties as needed.
