Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
The Dishwasher and Utility Person is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cafeteria, kitchen and dining areas. This role includes washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with basic food preparation and other utility tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will uphold the values and mission of the Catholic school community while ensuring a safe and clean environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down serving lines and dining areas.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Cafeteria Manager.
- Support the cafeteria team with additional tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. May require standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Work is performed in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.

- Must have or be able to qualify for Diocesan safe environment certification including a background check.
