Summary
This position supports the work of licensed clinicians by obtaining vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording information in electronic medical records, preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies, and collecting and preparing specimens of bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.
Essential Functions
- Obtains and records patients' vital signs, prepares and administers medications and injections under the direction of licensed clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collects and documents patients' medical information, including medical history and records information in electronic medical records.
- Collects and prepares specimens of bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing and preparing and handles medical instruments and supplies.
- Maintains workspaces such as cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
- Schedules patient appointments and maintains communication to confirm future appointments.
- Verifies & cancels prescriptions at the pharmacy.
- Works directly with a licensed medical clinician and/or licensed psychiatric clinician to ensure optimal patient care.
- Scans and faxes documents.
- On-time completion of assigned training and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant certification.
- CPR/First Aid & AED certified.
- Basic user of MS office.
- Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary.
