 This position protects the property and ensures the safety of staff, clients, and visitors by patrolling assigned areas, may serve as the Lead Officer and/or perform specialized duties such as safety or parking.  

 Essential Functions

• Informs others regarding changes in security policies and procedures and makes routine decisions concerning work assignments. 
• Records and completes all incidents during the shift and reviews reports prepared by lowerlevel security staff. 
• Assists in planning and implementing training programs. 
• Acts as the assigned Officer in Charge in absence of a Security Officer Lead or Supervisor. 
• Patrols, responds and records incidents that occur at properties. Uses intervention techniques when rules when needed. 
• Maintains surveillance of properties through cameras and patrolling routes. 
• Conducts crowd control during meal times or when other special events occur.   
• Reports hazards and issues parking citations. 

Job Requirements 

• High School Diploma or GED.  
• Adult CPR/First Aid&AED certified. 
• CA Guard Card certification.  
• O.C. Pepper Spray permit. 
• At least 1 year of security experience with training others.  
• Basic user of MS Office. 
• Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver's license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months. 
• Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary.

Work Environment 

• Work involves continuous exposure to hazardous substances, potentially dangerous situations, and unpleasant work conditions such as adverse weather conditions or extreme risk of accident or ill health. 

Physical Demand  

• Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. 
• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders or stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. 
• Heavy Carrying/Lifting: Physically transporting, raising items from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally weighing 45 pounds and over from one location to another. 
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees.   
• Mobility Requirement: Ability to get from one office location to another. 
• Reaching above shoulder: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. 
• Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, fingers, and/or upper body for sustained periods of time, including using extremities to drag, push, pull or grasp.   
• Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time.   
• Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.   
• Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly for long distances.   
• Visual Requirement: Able to see and read computer screens, detect color coding, etc. 
• Hearing Requirement: Able to detect specific noises, proper equipment operation.
