Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for fostering an employee-oriented culture that promotes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires 3 to 5 years of HR experience, a high level of social awareness, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Essential Functions:
- Confidentiality and Ethics: Practices discretion, privacy, and professional ethics while maintaining trustworthiness and effective communication.
- Culture Development: Leads initiatives to promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a high-performance culture.
- Employee Support: Acts as the primary point of contact for HR and benefit-related inquiries.
- HR Communication: Ensures clear communication of HR policies, procedures, and laws to employees and management.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Manages recruitment efforts, coordinates with hiring managers, and oversees new employee orientations.
- Employee Relations: Supports managers with performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and employee terminations as necessary.
- Incident Reporting and Compliance: Tracks incident reports, handles workers' compensation claims, and ensures compliance with all legal posting and personnel matters.
- Benefits Administration: Collaborates with leadership and brokers to evaluate benefits packages, oversees enrollment and termination processes, and communicates changes to employees.
- Compensation: Assists in annual compensation reviews and implementation.
- Policy Development: Develops, implements, and maintains personnel policies and the employee handbook.
- Performance Management: Oversees annual performance reviews and supports employee development plans.
- Employee Counseling: Facilitates counseling services for personal and professional concerns.
- Legal Support: Assists in investigations and claims involving EEOC, OSHA, DOL, ADA, and other regulatory bodies.
- HR Systems Management: Maintains accurate and secure human resource information systems and personnel records.
- Drug Testing: Administers and oversees company drug testing processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission of St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho.
Payroll Functions:
- Collects, calculates, and enters payroll data.
- Updates payroll records with changes in exemptions, insurance, and deductions.
- Processes and submits payroll, including direct deposit and check distribution.
- Prepares federal and state tax deposits, unemployment reports, and benefit billing.
- Handles quarterly reporting (941) and prepares W-4, 1095-C, and 1094-C forms.
Material and Equipment Used:
- Utilizes various software applications, including Microsoft Office, as well as standard office equipment (copiers, fax machines, etc.).
Physical Activities/Mental Demands:
- Light physical work, including lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent mental demands, including problem-solving, multitasking, and handling interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily in an office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- At least 3 years of HR-related experience, including line management preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state HR regulations.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and subsequent drug testing.
- Proficient in dictation of meeting notes and demonstrates excellence in oral and written communication skills

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
