JOB SUMMARY:
The Retail Associate takes pride in providing excellent customer service and an enjoyable experience at our thrift store. At St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho, our thrift stores help fund our social services – including our emergency shelters, Father Bill’s Kitchen, and free shower and laundry facilities. You will play an important role by accepting, processing, and retailing donated goods to support our mission to provide direction and services supporting individuals and families in North Idaho needing assistance to enrich, fortify, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Use POS equipment to conduct merchandise transactions, ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain merchandising and cleanliness standards of the sales floor.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting all donors, assisting if needed with the loading and unloading of goods in a timely and courteous manner, and thanking customers for their generosity and patronage. Ensure a donation receipt is provided, as requested.
- Follow and ensure all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used.
- Assist with the organization of donations to be sorted, keeping the donation work area clean and safe of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must be able to bend, lift 50 lbs, and stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
