Job Summary :
Under the guidance of the Dream Center and Family Evening Program Supervisor the Dream Center Special Needs Tutor will motivate, lead and inspire children with special needs and volunteers with clarity, dignity and respect while being responsible for the daily operations of the DC tutoring.
Specific Duties :
- Assist in the development of literacy and math skills with preschool through high school children who need extra support
- Set up, facilitate tutoring and clean up Dream Center nightly
- Create and prepare material for distribution
- Engage children in academic activities
- Assist in compiling data for reports as necessary
- Must be present at all times when volunteers are on-site
- Charging and monitoring all Dream Center electronics (laptops, Chrome Books etc.}
- Compile daily tracking and data reports
- Track and measure various demographics and results for reporting purposes
- Maintain names and track students’ progress
- Assist Dream Center and Family Evening Program Manager in confidence with any situation that may arise involving children, guests, volunteers or otherwise.
- Perform other duties assigned by Dream Center and Family Evening Program Manager.
- Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated
- Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values
