What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Supervisor position at St. Vincent’s Health System?
- Department Main Sterile Processing
- Schedule Evenings; Monday - Friday; 100 p.m. - 930 p.m.
- Hospital UAB St Vincent's - Birmingham

- Oversee decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments using Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards.
- Oversee and complete preparation of all case carts as required by following local inventory standards.
- Evaluate and document quality assurance program findings and coaches team toward improving regular audit outcomes. Focus on productivity standards and quality workflow metrics.
- Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
- One or more of the following required
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
