Job Description
Saint Joseph's Medical Center, is seeking a full time Phlebotomy / Processing SupervisorUnder the general direction of the Laboratory Director.
Duties :
- Supervises non-technical personnel,
- Written procedures for performing and documenting competency assessment for staff,
- Direct observations of employees responsibilities
- Direct observations of compliance with safety protocols
- Reviews work product for compliance with standard operating procedures
- Monitors the recording and reporting of test results
- Assessment of problem solving and remedial action of staff
- Responsible for ensuring the staff accurately obtains blood samples via venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick collection procedures
- Ensures that age appropriate care is provided to patients whose ages range from infant to geriatric.
- Ensures specimen integrity by enforcing the laboratory's procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing
- Adheres to and enforces departmental policies
- Departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety. Direct report of phlebotomist and ancillary service charter
- Supervises day-to-day activities for specimen accessioning department
- Supervises staff work and evaluates outcomes.
Requirements :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification
1 year of phlebotomy experience.
Salary Range : $79,261
